Elaine is a RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) Certified Teacher, with Advanced Specialist designation in both piano and music theory.  She holds an Associate Diploma (ARCT) in piano pedagogy from the RCM, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia.  She currently teaches in music schools, and is experienced in teaching piano and theory students from beginners to advanced levels.

She has experience working with children and teenagers of a wide range of ages, and has also worked well with students with special needs and adult students.  Other than piano lessons, she also teaches accelerated theory courses on rudiments, harmony, and music history on an individual and group basis.  Her students have achieved First Class Honors with Distinction results in piano and theory examinations.

Elaine is a member of the Piano Teachers Federation, and is actively engaged in professional development through seminars and local workshops on new pedagogical principles.  Besides teaching, she serves as a music director and band leader in a local church, and works regularly as a piano accompanist for choirs and other instrumentalists.  She is a patient and dedicated teacher, who is committed in guiding her students to find their unique expression in music and to develop to their full potentials.
